Membership

The membership of the EAC consists of the Academic Secretary and all the Degree Examination Board (DEB) chairs as ex officio members as well as selected chairs of large postgraduate programmes in the College to ensure fair representation and consideration of undergraduate and taught postgraduate provision. The committee is Chaired by the Vice Principal for Teaching and Learning and serviced by the Academic Secretariat.

Terms of reference

The Examinations and Assessment Committee reports to Academic Board and has a particular remit to take an overview of operational, regulatory and governance aspects of examinations and assessment.

  • To monitor and review matters relating to the organisation and conduct of examinations and assessment within the College.
  • To monitor and review the academic regulations for taught programmes of study, making recommendations for changes, as appropriate, to Quality Enhancement Committee and Academic Board.
  • To oversee the operation of examination boards in the College and consider issues arising from examination boards, seeking College-wide solutions to matters of concern and sharing good practice.
  • To consider external developments that might impact on the operation of examinations and assessment in the College.
  • To consider and make recommendations on other matters referred by Academic Board and its committees.
