Governance relates to the processes and procedures that govern Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and the committees with have oversight over them. The Council and its various committees have superintendence over the work of QMUL.
The Senate is responsible for the oversight of the academic activity at QMUL including, amongst other things, academic standards, academic freedom and research. The Vice-Principals for Student Experience, Teaching & Learning, International, Public Engagement & Student Enterprise, and Research have advisory groups which report both to Senate and the Queen Mary Senior Executive.
Information Governance consists of the policies, procedures and other controls for managing information and complying with legal and operational requirements. It includes Freedom of Information, data protection and records management.
