Mr Simon Linnett
QMUL Treasurer, Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee
Simon Linnett is QMUL Treasurer and an external Council member. He chairs the Finance & Investment Committee, is a member of the Remuneration Committee and an attendee at the Audit & Risk Committee. He is also a Trustee of the Queen Mary Foundation. Simon graduated from Oxford in Mathematics in 1975 and joined Rothschild where he has been ever since. The concentration of his activity has been in working closely with government particularly during the privatisation programme of the 1980’s and 1990’s. He has also been heavily involved in the transport sector.
In addition to QMUL and Rothschild, Simon is Chairman of Luton & Dunstable University Hospital; Trustee of the Science Museum Group including Chairman of the Advisory Board for the National Railway Museum & Observer on the Railway Heritage Designation Advisory Board; Trustee of Nesta & Chairman of the Finance & Audit Committee; and a member of the Exbury Gardens Trust. Simon has recently stood down as Chairman of the Independent Transport Commission where he was Chairman for the last eight years and has been a Commissioner since 2000.
