Senate Elections

From Thursday 13 July to Friday 04 August 2017 we invited self-nominations for vacant positions on Senate, the governing body for academic matters at QMUL:

Three academic staff members (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences)
Three academic staff members (School of Medicine and Dentistry)
Four academic staff members (Faculty of Science and Engineering)

This position was open to:

All current academic staff who are appointed to full time or part time posts on either a permanent academic contract or a fixed-term academic contract extending at least two years beyond the point at which the call for nominations is made.

Three self-nominations were received for the School of Medicine and Dentistry and the following members of staff were elected without ballot:
Dr Richard Grose (Barts Cancer Institute)
Dr Jason Niggli (Institute of Dentistry)
Dr Anwar Tappuni (Institute of Dentistry)

Two self-nominations were received for the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the following members of staff were elected without ballot:
Dr. Ginestra Bianconi (School of Mathematical Sciences)
Dr. Eranjan Padumadasa (School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Sciences)

Four self-nominations were received for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and an election was held during August 2017.  Following the count on Tuesday 29 August 2017 the following members of staff were eleted:
Dr Sadhvi Dar (School fo Business and Management)
Dr Madeleine Davis (School of Politics and International Relations)
Professor Phoebe Okowa (School of Law)
