If an ID card is required for essential access to Queen Mary buildings, e.g. you have permission to use laboratories or other research facilities and require an ID card for access, please email email@example.com to request an ID card and to make arrangements for collection.
If you are not currently based on campus for your studies you do not need an ID card to access online resources or to take online exams. When the current restrictions change, we will update the information on this page regarding ID cards.

This page contains essential information on our services and research degree procedures for research degree students. You should read the forms in conjunction with the Academic Regulations and the Research Degrees Code of Practice [PDF 256KB]. The requirements for research degrees (MPhil, PhD, MD(Res), DrPS and DClinDent) are set out in Appendix 1 of the Academic Regulations.
All students studying for research degrees are automatically enrolled in the Doctoral College. Please refer to the webpages of the Doctoral College to learn more about the support offered to research degree students by the Researcher Development Team, Careers & Enterprise, Library and Students' Union.

Continuing students must re-enrol at the beginning of each new academic year. If you have submitted your thesis and/or are making your corrections you are still a student and must be fully enrolled so that we can award you.
