The Access to Learning fund is money that the Government gives to the College to provide help for students who may need extra financial support to access and remain in higher education. More specifically the fund can be used to:
- meet specific course and living costs which are not already met from other sources
- help if students are in financial hardship
- provide emergency payments for unexpected financial crises
- help students who may be giving up their course because of financial problems
Students should be aware, however, that the Access to Learning fund cannot help with the cost of tuition fees and is intended to act as a safety net for those in financial difficulty rather than their main source of income.
