Awarded to recognise significant, sustained contribution to the School of Geography Laboratories. Including high quality data collection, professional collaboration and independence in experimental design.

Criteria:
Awardees must meet at least two of these criteria:
- Those who have engaged in an extended period of laboratory work over the course of 2 weeks or more.
- Those who have led the design and/or organisation of their work, and have shown independence in their laboratory work.
- Completed in good time.
- Those who have shown professionalism in collaborating with laboratory staff to achieve their goals.
- Those who have contributed to the collection of data which is of publishable quality.
